Sapporo Snow Festival

The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of Japan’s largest and most stunning winter events. Each year this festival attracts approximately 2 million visitors from Japan and across the globe, to witness 300 hand-sculpted, towering ice sculptures and statues that line Odori Park, the grounds at Satoland, and the main street in Susukino.

The event that runs for seven days in February, turns Hokkaido into a winter wonderland. This is a culturally significant festival that is not to be missed.

 

Toyota Big Air

After being held at the Makomanai Outdoor Venue for 15 years, the annual Toyota Big Air will move to the Sapporo Dome.

The Toyota Big Air is one of the world’s largest snow jumping contents that attracts top snowboard professionals from across the globe. Sponsored by Quiksilver, this event see’s Japan’s top board riding talent perform for a chance to qualify at an international level. Featuring fireworks, live bands and a variety of other entertainment, this is an event that will excite the whole family.
